South Africa

The focus in South Africa is the mentoring of leaders and projects that include pre-schools, home based care of AIDS sufferers, community feeding programmes, job creation and hospitality and work for the unemployed.

We provide mentoring, coaching and soul-care through spiritual direction and Christian Listening.

We offer Pre-marital counselling for couples, Christian counselling and Peace-making facilitation.

Consulting to missions in the areas of organisational development, strategic planning, marketing/ public relations and fund-raising, board member training and good governance.

We have five large M-Cubed projects operational at present. Helping Hands and Leutlwetse have been graduated after 13 years of mentoring during 2016. An intervention has been created through project sustainability

We have five large M-Cubed projects operational at present:

  • Helping Hands In Tembisa East of Johannesburg is a home based HIV/AIDS care ministry  that has been doing sterling work mentored by our staff and supported financially.
  • Leutlwetse Early Childhood Development Centre North of Pretoria.  A complete childcare centre has been developed, built, mentored and supported.  Teachers and staff have been trained.  A productive vegetable garden supplements the nutritional feeding of children.
  • Jerusalem Ministries in Port Elizabeth is a large ministry that we have mentored and supported for 13 years. That large diverse community development project continues under our mentor Peter Freeman.
  • Phaphuka Ministries is led by evangelist and Bible teacher Madoda Nzima. Madoda functioned as a senior mentor and eventually as the executive director of Pro-Vision during a 12 year commitment. Madoda established Phaphuka Ministries in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Gauteng. Evangelistic tent meetings, teaching across denominational boundaries, regular radio ministry broadcasts crossing provincial borders and mercy ministry comprise Phaphuka’s (Rise up) commitment to live, teach and preach “the unadulterated word of God.” The ministry is mentored and supported through PVI’s commitment to the M-Cubed model.
  • Phumlani Community Ministry led and mentored by PVI’s latest staff member Jacqui Smith, functions daily in the White River, Mpumalanga area.
Pro-Vision serves the community of Phumlani, a poor township situated on the outskirts of White River, Mpumalanga Province. Jacqui Smith, returned to South Africa after completing 18 years of intensive pioneering ministry in deep rural Mozambique. She embraced the people and problems in Phumlani and leads a community development ministry together with the involvement of dedicated volunteers from Salt Family Church. Medical care provided and monitored by Jacqui is part of the ministry service.

The team’s ears, eyes and helping hands in the community are 14 resident women who are mentored and motivated to follow the example of our suffering and serving Saviour.

The ministry reaches the elderly, widows, orphans and vulnerable children. The serving team provides meals, physical and medical care as well as attending to advocacy needs relating to social justice and legal requirements. The township is a gathering place for refugees from all over Southern Africa. Many are illegally in South Africa having fled war and poverty in their countries. Consequently, there are no opportunities for employment, child grant benefits or education. Chronic illness abounds and children suffer. Jacqui and her team strive to create a better life in Christ for those desperate ones who are providentially embraced into their care.

As part of our mentoring and training the leaders of projects have, wherever necessary and possible, been through a two year equipping in our PVI mentoring Tool Box. This has taught them everything required to function effectively, financially and legally as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO.)

The Tool Box and its four book tutorials have been taught to project teams in detailed interactive sessions over many years.
